Happy palm at Deep Bay, Antigua.

It’s December 1st, just before sunset as we pull into the calm turquoise waters of Deep Bay, Antigua. The palm trees lining the white sand beach boast foliage so exuberant, it looks like an explosion of green fireworks.  It’s warm enough to be naked.  We drop our anchor, which rests with ease, on the sandy, 10’ bottom.

The islands of Montserrat and St. Kitts cast their silhouettes in periwinkle. The sun sets, a tangerine band on the Western horizon.
My husband is cooking dinner.

The only weird part…. Where is
everybody?  This is the poolside at
the Grand Antigua Resort, Deep Bay.
C’mon, this can’t be real.  My husband cooking dinner?  It is real, all of it… even my husband cooking dinner.
