Sailboat sailing from Seattle to Port Townsend Washington

S/V Scintilla, our friends’ boat, anchored in Port Townsend, WA, our first night’s destination.

We (still) no longer own a boat. We’re fortunate our friends Chris and Chris generously let us join them on their sail into Canada.* They’ve penciled in a month for their trip from Seattle up into British Columbia’s Desolation Sound. We’re planning on joining them through to Victoria, where we’ll bail off and use mass transit to make our way back to our car at their place in West Seattle, then home.

*Their boat is for sale, if you know anyone interested in a serious cruising boat.

We met Chris and Chris in Vanuatu, back in 2016. We all sailed there from North America.

Since we returned to the USA after sailing in 2017, Chris and Chris are the cruisers we’ve seen the most, though we keep up with many folks we met along the way.

Port Townsend at sunset, anchored near the ferry dock.

We miss the wide-open horizon of the sky from the waterfront. We appreciated the vivid orange sunset over Port Townsend our first night that much more because of it.

We’re about to head out of our covered wifi range so I will update our travels when we’re back in range.

Like sailing, feeling a bit rusty on my blogging. In both cases, just gotta start and take it from there!

More soon.
